Barrow’s coastal dunes to benefit from WREN’s £250,000 biodiversity grant

Morecambe Bay Partnership secures funding to look after these lovely places

A further £250,000 has been secured by Morecambe Bay Partnership to look after wonderful natural places on Walney Island, Barrow.  This latest funding success comes from WREN's national Biodiversity Action Fund.  For the first time the nationally important dune and shingle habitats on Walney will be managed as a single unit.  This is another step towards landscape-scale management where natural places are better conected.  This makes nature better able to resist climate change and better at providing natural services for us all. full story
