We're looking for a new Chief Executive Officer

New adventures await for Chief Executive, Susannah

Susannah Bleakley will be stepping down from her role as Chief Executive of Morecambe Bay Partnership at the end of the summer 2021 after 25 years of dedicated service at the helm. A highly respected and well-known figure in the Bay, she has successfully navigated the charity into a broad multi-sector organisation with a portfolio of projects celebrating and conserving the heritage of the Bay.

Susannah has overseen significant growth in delivery and influence during her time at the Partnership which has consistently punched above its weight.  Speaking of her decision Susannah said, “This feels like the right time to step down.  And with so many exciting opportunities for the Bay – it will be a terrific role for a new Chief Executive.  I am immensely proud of all that the team have achieved – and want to thank all our volunteers, partners and funders. Personally, I’m looking forward to new adventures and travel when conditions allow.”

Responding to the news, Chair of Trustees Tom Burditt, said “Susannah is a hugely passionate, dynamic and well-respected champion for everything and everyone in or related to the Bay and we’re going to miss her immensely. We’ll be celebrating and reflecting on all of Susannah’s achievements closer to the time of her leaving while we focus on the search for a candidate to take up this new and exciting challenge.”

The closing date for applications has now passed but for whoever the next CEO is, Susannah says:

“This is a terrific job. You’ll work among the best group of colleagues you could imagine and the Trustees are outstanding too. The numerous awards we have received are a reflection of the dedication and professionalism of the team. Right now is a genuinely exciting time for Morecambe Bay – so there’s huge potential and opportunity to be at the centre of exciting developments.”

We hope that the replacement Chief Executive will join the Partnership over the summer - watch this space for further news.
